ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer

Edgewater Computer Systems is seeking an ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer to join our team.

Position Summary

Be responsible for translating technical requirement specifications into ASIC-level design specifications, implementing VHDL/Verilog and verification of designs, and working with the System Engineer and other technical team members to integrate and debug ASIC in a system as a key member of the product development team. Education

  • Bachelors or higher degree in Electrical Eng., Computer Eng., or Systems Eng.

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in an ASIC and/or FPGA development environment with exposure to physical syntheses, static, timing analysis, assertion-based verification.

Required Skill Set

  • Expertise with all phases of the ASIC and FPGA design and development process; document driven design; architecture; HDL (VHDL, Verilog); quality coding practices; tools (Synopsis, Mentor Graphics, RiveraPro, Modelsim, VCS, Simplicity, Design Compiler, Primtime, Quartus (Intel), Xilinx ISE (AMD/Xilinx), Libero (Microchip), Magma; shell scripting (Perl/Tcl/Python); and integration & debug in a target system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of technical areas including PCIe, PCI, SPI,I2C, RS-232, custom embedded systems; complex micro-controllers: state machines; Matlab; DSP; and programming languages.
  • Must be able to sit at desk during workday and perform other light physical work as required to fulfill the job functions.
  • Must be able to analyze complex information and perform at a high mental level and work effectively under pressure of project deadlines. (may require evenings and weekend work from time to time)

Desired Skill Set

  • Knowledge of functional verification toools and methodolgy using VHDL, Verilog/SystemVerilog and SystemCera

  • PSL/SVA Assertions and methodologies
  • Directed and constrained-random functional test environment development and usage
  • Ability to write operational concepts documnets or theroy of operation documents and provide a vision of subsystem concepts for subordinate engineering disciplines. Experience writing design requirements, deriving requirements, writing design documents with a particular attention in the area of performing design analysis.
  • Experience in military/avionics environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in military product development/qualification role

Required Skills

Financial Controller

Edgewater Computer Systems is seeking a Financial Controller to join our team.

Job Summary

The Controller is responsible for directing and managing the companys accounting functions as they pertain to ASPE, including establishing and maintaining policies and procedures in the preparation of financial statements and in reporting to top management and external stakeholders. The Controller also maintains the company's acounting systems and implements changes as required.

Principal Duties

  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information using ASPE
  • Implementation and management of internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures.
  • Provides advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial system, record keeping, analysis and reporting.
